Two Girls, One TBR

Welcome back to the blog! Grab your favorite Halloween candy and gather around the cauldron because our Halloween Special is officially live. Kirsty, Jess, and I brought total chaos to this episode. We dressed to thrill in our costumes (skull makeup, a pizza slice, and the Lorax) and spent the whole time talking about our favorite spooky season reads, debating classic horror movies, and sharing terrifying local urban legends. Listen/Watch on Spotify Before we get to the books, we have to celebrate the absolute best part of the episode. Jess is in her second trimester and she is officially having a BABY GIRL! We are so excited for her and are already brainstorming the perfect bookish names. Drop your best dark fantasy baby name suggestions in the comments below! 🦇 The Potion: The Shadow Daddy Spritz Because the only thing better than a villain... is a villain who buys you a drink. This week's potion is dark, it is bubbly, and it has a blood-red rim that will make you feel like...

Welcome back, book besties! ACOTAR 6 is officially dropping next week, and the group chat is completely unhinged. To prepare for our return to Prythian, I sat down with Kirsty and Jess on the latest episode of Two Girls, One TBR to spiral into the wildest Maasverse theories we could find. We are unpacking everything from Elain’s potential villain arc to the dangerous consequences of Rhysand and Feyre's death bargain. Plus, we are sharing some incredible indie romantasy shoutouts for when you inevitably need a cure for your ACOTAR book hangover. Grab your glass and let's get into it! The Potion: The Sleeper Agent 🍹 You know we cannot start a deep theory session without a themed drink. This week we are sipping on The Sleeper Agent . It is a dark and deceptive cocktail that looks sweet but packs an absolute punch. It looks like a sweet little blackberry drink... but once you swirl it, Azriel's shadows literally take over the glass. Cheers to the girls who look sweet but ...

The Most Unhinged Spicy Romantasy Cliffhangers That Literally Had Me Sobbing 😭 🦇 Welcome back to the blog besties! Grab your tissues and your favorite emotional support bookmark because today we are choosing pure violence. Kirsty and I finally sat down at the mics for Season 5 Episode 3 of Two Girls One TBR to air out our deepest literary traumas. We love morally gray men and we love high spice with suffocating tension but authors have gotten far too comfortable committing emotional warfare right at the very end of a book. Are cliffhangers a sign of pure genius storytelling or are authors just toying with our sanity to guarantee preorders? We put the worst offenders on trial and honey some of these endings deserve a life sentence in literary prison. We do we love every second of it, absolutely! But before we get to the books that ruined our lives we have to take a quick detour to The DNF Court because I have to talk about what absolutely steamed my bun this week. The DN...

Hey Book Babes! 🦇✨ Welcome back to the Coven's master archive where your TBR is about to get completely out of control. If you thought our bookshelves were already a red flag just wait until you hear what is dropping in October, November, and December. Season 5 Episode 2 is officially live! This week Kirsty, Jess, and I are losing our absolute minds over the massive quarter four book releases. We are talking spicy romantasy, unhinged dark romance, monster smut, and even those cozy small town contemporary romances that are going to completely ruin our sleep schedules! Seriously my wallet is already weeping... and honestly yours is about to be too. The Most Unhinged Q4 Reading Hoard 📚🔥 We did not hold back on this list. We break down nearly 30 upcoming book drops that you desperately need to pre-order right now! From massive heavy hitters to the absolute best indie romance authors, we are screaming about all of them. Are you ready for Vasmora by Keri Lake because I am litera...

Grace Hughes Interview: Eldritch Demons and High Tension in When the Sky Breaks 🌩️🖤 Hello Besties! Rebecca here, and we are officially back for Season 5! Kirsty, Jess, and I sat down in the virtual studio with the brilliant indie author Grace Hughes, and we are completely losing our minds. Her debut dark romantasy When the Sky Breaks dropped on August 18th, and my brain is still melting from the atmospheric dread. If you love romance and a golden retriever MMC who is secretly devoted to his wife, you need this on your TBR right now. The Potion: Milkweed's Magic 🍹 For our Season 5 premiere, we whipped up a drink called Milkweed's Magic. It is a moody, earthy blackberry and bourbon cocktail inspired by the dark roads of the Outer Court. We know Grace is strictly an Ahmad tea girl before 1 PM and a LaCroix queen in the afternoon, but this drink sets the spooky aesthetic perfectly! Rebecca's Radar: Why You Need to Read When the Sky Breaks This book has been living in ...
