To get the full experience, you have to read Breath of Starlight first.  It kicks off the Nine Rivers Odyssey and follows Auryn, who is a disabled fallen star bound to Kailorien, an immortal god of war.  It is not your typical romantasy.  The world-building is super rich, and the emotional stakes are just off the charts.

And the absolute best part is book two, Sokar, just released August 1st!  There is no agonizing wait to see what happens next.  You can jump right back into Elendria and keep reading.
